Commencing from July 2014, I was privileged to complete my Industry Placement at Burch and Purchese Sweet Studio, a revolutionary haven for all things sweet, located on Chapel Street in South Yarra, Victoria.
For 6 months I worked alongside some incredible people, experienced food production as I have never seen it before and learned more than I ever thought was possible! In addition to the shop front, online store and customary cake/dessert orders, Burch and Purchese would regularly cater for special functions, celebrities and other renowned businesses, including a monthly high-tea held at the Langham Hotel, creating products for George Calombaris’s Souvlaki Bar, Jimmy Grant’s and Bompas and Parr’s Sam Bompas, catering for Danni Minogue and the State Library of Victoria, just to name a few! |
